KW01 Frequency setting?

I'm looking at the KW01 for use in Amature Radio.  The Amature radio frequency ranges are 420-450MHz and 902-928MHz.  The Fact sheet lists 424-510MHz and 862-1020MHz as supported by the KW01 which overlap fairly well with the amature bands but I'm having trouble figuring out how the frequency is set.  The MRB-KW01 board comes in three flavors for the 862-1020MHz bands, but doesn't list the exact ranges supported and I'm having trouble finding information on how to select the 424-510mhz range.

If someone could point me in the way of an App Note it would be appreciated.

So if I understand it correctly, it's completely determined in software?  Why have the 3 versions of the MRB-KW01 then?
