About QN9080 ADC

QN908x's ADC is 16bit, but Output data format is 23 bit. what is the purpose of this setting?

Hello,

If you check the user guide in chapter 30.2 it says the ADC is a 16-bit sigma-delta ADC, still,  the output is represented as 23-bit signed fractional data, you can see more about it in the table below the screenshot you shared.
