Hi there,
I am looking to use the IW610 with an external front-end module (FEM). As per the datasheet (see attached image), the IW610 has RF_CTRL pins to be used with components such as FEMs
However, the exact function of these pins (I am assuming one will go high on RF Tx, and one will go high on RF Rx) is not stated. Where can I find the information on this please?
Or is this something that is customisable and set up in the drivers?
Thanks,
Iain.
Hello @iain_hpsnz
We provide some reference design in Design guide, if you want similar configuration, you may follow the guide to design: https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=AN14419&appType=license.
For custom design, we didn't release guide about FEM CTRL pin. You need to send your project info and design to nxp. We will evaluate your case and design. Then custom a FEM control calibration file to you. But it wastes time and request volume of project. Not recommended.
Best Regards
Shaun
Hey Shaun,
Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. The design guide sounds interesting and is something I would like to take a look at, however when I click your link I am given the error:
Your userId does not have sufficient privilege to proceed with download.
Any idea why this would be?
Our case is small, perhaps 100 units per year, so I am assuming you deem this to be not worth your time.
Assuming that this is the case, does that mean that this FEM control feature is completely unavailable to me? There is no way to set this up through the existing driver using, or using an existing example?
I notice the IC has an onboard PA/LNA to act as an internal FEM - can this be controlled via the driver?
Thanks,
Iain.
