Memory Repair feature - What does it do and why?

Reading the MVF50NN151CMK40 reference manual I ran across the feature called "Memory Repair".

See page 801, section 18.4.6 of this link:

The RM describes when it happens, how it is aborted and so on, but I do not understand what it does and why. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jack,

The RM is not very clear as to exactly what the Vybrid is doing during “Memory Repair.”  However, this was actually supposed to be removed from the documentation since it is not a function that really means anything to customers.
