Logging In Bounces Me Back to the "Welcome" Page

This is a "new" behavior of the "Upgraded" Forum Software.

This is how it used to work:

1 - I was logged in Yesterday, but Today I'm not (the automatic logout),

2 - Navigate to a Forum/Place/Space and be viewing a Discussion,

3 - Click on "Login",

4 - Depending on how long I've been logged out, sometimes I'd log in immediately, and other times I'd go through the "Login" page,

5 - I end up back on the SAME page as step (2), but now logged in.

This is what it does now:

Steps 1-4 are the same

5 - I'm dumped back to the "https://community.freescale.com/welcome " page,

6 - I now have to navigate the long path back to where I was, and

7 - The "Back" button gives me a web site error, so that isn't a workaround.

Please reinstate the old behavior.

Tom

Thanks for your feedback Tom. We do have an Issue Tracking sheet being filled during and after the Upgrade, this bug has been entered already for  it to be tested in further occasions. Since I don't have the exact date for this bug to be fixed I would consider my reply to be the answer.

Hi Tom, yes we have already reported this and it seems to be the expected behavior.

I assume you reported this because it was considered "wrong", so how can it also be "expected"?

It is also different to what the previous version did.

It is also highly inconvenient as it really disrupts the workflow.

Yes it is wrong! when I say expected I mean that is how the platform works. I have submitted a case with the vendor, they have agreed this is a bug and should be fixed in an upcoming release (releases take place on a quarterly basis). One I have any info it is going to be part of the next release or one of the following, I´ll notify the community users. Sorry there is nothing else we can do.

You could add this case (and other problems reported here) to your Specifications and to the Acceptance Testing, and not release a new version until it passes.

Should I mark your reply as a "Correct Answer" to the bug report, or should I wait unt a new version of the platform has been released with the bug fixed? Which sort of "Correct" do your processsd use?

The bug has been fixed. Logging in now returns me to the page I'm on.

Thanks.
