As we come really close to meet in Paris for the Freescale Cup finals on 26-27 March at the ESIEE: here are a few more details about the 3 challenges that have been posted:

Challenge 1: Start/Stop line: There have been questions about the Green Line that will be used for the Stop line. This is electric green tape.

Challenge 2: Object avoidance: The paint is black MATT. The black obstacles measurements are:

  • Height: 55mm
  • Width: 180mm
  • Depth: 144mm

See you all in Paris!!

Hi Flavio.
How many wheels can leave the track car? Is there a difference in the rules between the final and mandatory challenge?

Will the qualification before the final? Thanks.

Per the rules, the car must not put any tire or part of a tire out of the track. This leads to a void lap (no time given). The rules of the challenge are consistent with the rules of the race (i.e. no exiting the track to avoid an object on the track for challenge 2).

There will not be any qualification before the final. All teams that have a car that has successfully passed the technical qualification will be in the final race.

The stop line green? We thought it would be the same as the start line.

Hi, this was listed since the beginning. That is the reason it is called a Challenge. The line has a high contrast with the white background but not as strong as the black line so it must not be mixed up with a crossing. That is the real challenge and that is the reason it is not part of the race itself.
