Request for Support: T2080 Custom Board Bring-Up

Hello NXP Support Team,

I am working on bringing up a custom board based on the NXP T2080 processor and I would like assistance with the bring-up process.

Board Details:

• Processor: T2080

• Boot Source: SPI NOR

• System Clock: 100 MHz

• Memory: DDR3L - (IS43TR16K01S2AL-125KBLI)

• Flash: MT25QU02GCBB8E12-0SIT SPI NOR

• JTAG: CodeWarrior TAP

Steps Taken So Far:

1. Verified power rails, reset signals, and clock stability.

2. The DIP settings are set to hardcoded RCW for JTAG as per the T2080 quick start guide document and able to read the hardcoded RCW values using CCS.
   
   How to proceed further to boot the board from the SPI NOR flash?

Issues / Questions:

1. If no RCW is present in flash, what is the correct method to load one using CodeWarrior / debugger?

2. Any guidance or checklist for first board bring-up (before loading U-Boot) would be very helpful.

Additional Information:

• CCS/CodeWarrior Development Studio version: 10.4.0

• OS/Host machine: Windows 10

Followed the steps given in the Quick Start for PA 10 Processors document but no print statements observed in the terminal console of CWDS IDE..

As I mentioned previously, please check whether you can run the SRAM project correctly in CodeWarrior IDE. There is no printf sentence in the SRAM project at all. Because SRAM memory is not large enough to run "printf".

Configured our custom target board to the hardcoded RCW and using CodeWarrior IDE to do flash programming to load custom RCW bin into the flash and the Flash Configuration File used is T2080RDB-PCIe_SPI_FLASH.xml, but getting the error as in the screenshot attached below.

How to proceed further to load files and boot the board from the SPI NOR flash?

As I mentioned previous, please create a SRAM download project to avoid to use DDR memory. Because DDR controller is not initialized according to your custom board now.

Please refer to page 5 in the attached document to create a simple bareboard program in CodeWarrior, and "Debug Target Settings" panel, please select Launch as "Download SRAM".

1. Please configure your target board as hard-coded RCW, then use CodeWarrior to do flash programming and debugging.

2. Please refer to page 5 in the attached document to create a simple bareboard program in CodeWarrior, and "Debug Target Settings" panel, please select Launch as "Download SRAM", then run this sample program in SRAM.
