"Debugger license error" in CW PA eclipse 10.5 windows

I have a node locked license for Code Warrior (Windows) Eclipse for PA, running on Windows 7 host Dell E6520 laptop.

I get a debugger license error when trying to launch a linux PowerPC app with Run->Debug Configurations (using CW Linux project wizard) on target board BD4860QDS. Board is running fine - boots off of NFS root file system and I can ping back and forth between Windows host running CW 10.5 and the target board.  AppTRK also launched ok on target board.  I can clean and build project ok but get the "Debugger license error" pop-up when trying to launch Linux AppTRK debug connection.  I generated a license file online with host ID (MAC address) and copied license.dat into CW_PA_v10.5.0/PA directory.  I get the "Debugger license error" regardless of whether the license.dat file is there or not. The code seems to clean and build regardless of whether there is a license.dat file present.   Any help appreciated.   BTW, the CW eclipse IDE for startcore SC3900 runs fine (compile & debug ok) on the same host and target BD4860QDS using CW Tap Ethernet connection.

Hi Carl,

Can you provide me the license file used ?

It seems you've installed several CodeWarrior development tool chains (Pa v10.5 and SC V10.x).

Have a great day,
Pascal

Hi Pascal,  I attached a file called "license_2.dat".   For posting, I edited the original license.dat and XXXX'd out serial numbers, host name and user name (not myself, as the license is in the name of a co-worker).  The license.data file was stored in directory \CW_PA_v10.5.0\PA\.

I have no problems debugging on the SC3900 side using USB TAP Ethernet,  but it uses a different license file.

Carl

Hi,

The license file seems to be completed.

Attached you will find a temp license file.

This temp includes license file for Linux/windows version and named license_pa_10.txt.

Problem:

This license seems to generated by the web license system too.

I've already experienced some trouble with the classic versions.

Is there a problem with a key ?

    it's possible ...

Second test.

Attached you will find another license file named license.dat_org.

This license is based on temporary license file included in the installation allow customer to evaluate the tool.

This one is not created by web license system.

Please can you check both license file ?

Have a great day,
Pascal

Pascal,

I renamed each file to be license.dat one at a time, and placed the file in the CW_PA_v10.5.0/PA directory.

The license_pa_10.txt file works with AppTrk/ethernet debug session.  The license.dat_org file does not work (I get the pop-up "Debugger license error" when launching download debug session).

Is the pa_10 license temporary?  Next steps to get full license?

Thanks,

Carl

Hi Carl,

First I would like to wish you a happy New Year and all the best for 2016.

The license_pa_10.txt is a temp license file including Windows and Linux version.

This license will expire soon and to continue to use the tool you need to purchase a registration.

The Power Architecture (CW for PA V10.x) is associated to CodeWarrior for Networked Application (CW4NET).

For detail please have a look to

CodeWarrior Dev Tools for Networked Apps|NXP

Select Buy/Specifications tab.

The Power Architecture is available for Developer, Specialist and Architect Level.

If you need CW for PA V10.x only without advanced features, the Developer Level is enough.

Don't hesitate to contact us.

Have a great day,
Pascal

Pascal,

We currently have a developer level nodelocked license (starts with CWA-LS-DVLPR-NL_x-xxxxxxxxx).  There should be 7 or 8 months left on the current license.  Loading the license via the NXP license web page doesn't work.  How do I go about getting a non-temporary?

Thanks,
Carl

Carl,

I've checked in our data base and found the registration CWA-LS-DVLPR-NL_1-xxxxxxx.

This registration is logged under mslowe@mitre.org account.

The license files for:

CodeWarrior for StarCore Advanced 3900FP DSP Eclipse V10.9

CodeWarrior for Power Architecture - Professional Edition (Windows) V10.5

have downloaded.

These license files whould work until Expiration Date: Sep 22, 2016.

Now if you've a problem with your license file I recommend you to create a Service Request.

By this way we could investigate the problem and exchange information in private side.

The license file must be locked on the Disk/Host/USBDongleID which must be compliant with your PC(or USBDongle in case of ...).

Launch Eclipse, the Help + Freescale Licenses will give you more information about the license file.

The license.dat file must be placed in the \CW_PA_v10.5.0\PA folder.

To submit your case into the supporting system, please follow below steps:

1) Go to http://www.nxp.com/support/sales-and-support:SUPPORTHOME.

2) On the bottom of the page under Submit New Issues, click Hardware & Software.

3) Register with your business email to access NXP technical online support.

4) A verification email will be sent to your account. Click the link embedded in that email to verify your access.

5) On the NXP online support page, select Contact Support from the top menu and click “submit a new case” to start the process.
