Hello, I need some information:
I would like to use CW on several PCs, one at a time. There are two licenses, node locked and floating. Best solution for me would be an USB dongle. Which one has it?
Or, is it possible to install the license server on the same notebook of CW? This would be useful because sometimes we need to work outside of our LAN. I know it can be done, because I did it for 56F DSCs. Same for Kinetis? In this case what is the node locked product good for?
Thanks and regards.
Alberto
First, check out this web page for more details on CodeWarrior licensing types.
Based on the fact that you want only one machine at a time to use CodeWarrior, and that the workstations (laptops) might be removed from the network, I'd go with the dongle approach.

Thank you for the reply. The web page you linked talks about the dongle license, but for Kinetis only the node locked and floating license are offered.
Also, from this thread
https://community.freescale.com/thread/100044
it seems there are problems using the dongle, which by the way in the FAQ is said not compatible with Vista 32, maybe it is just an outdated page.
This licensing thing is a big mess. Maybe floating license with the server and the client on the same notebook is the best option right now?
Best bet is to file an on-line service request to licensing to see what they say. This is beyond my meager knowledge of license issues.
