Hello,

I'm using the MPL3115A2 - I2C Barometric Pressure/Altitude/Temperature Sensor and was wondering if anyone knows, specifically, how temperature affects the altitude calculation. Under section 5.2.4 - Span, the documentation says, "The MPL3115A2 uses internal temperature compensation to remove drift."

If anyone knows, I would greatly appreciate an answer.

Thank you,
Adrin

Hello Adrian,

Yes, the MPL3115A2 handles temperature effects on altitude internally through built-in compensation mechanisms. It includes an on-chip temperature sensor that is used internally to compensate pressure readings. This compensation ensures that the pressure values used for altitude calculations are temperature-corrected.

BRs, Tomas

Hello, is it possible to get the exact formula used for compensating pressure with temperature?

Thank you,
