SE050 - GPIO usage

Hello,

I looked into the datasheet of the SE050 device.

Two Pins in package are marked as GPIO pins. Can they only be used in context to ISO7816? Are there any informations available if they can be used as normal GPIO? I am interested in a path for a direct alarm trigger input.

Thanks

Sascha

Hello Kan,

thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately I would use the GPIO as an input :-/. But I look into the AN for more informations.

Have a nice day

Sascha

Hi @SaschaH ,

Are you referring to IO1 and IO2? Actually they can also be used as I2C Master interface for the Sensor/Actuator use case as described in AN12449(https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12449.pdf ), but they can not be used as GPIO.

In case you would like to control a GPIO via the middleware you have to connect the device with an I2C-bus I/O expander and follow the cases mentioned in AN12449.

Hope that makes sense,

Have a great day,
Kan
