Hello, I am using the S32K146 and I would like to confirm the SCST function. From the document of S32K146, if SCST library is used, Coverage of ASIL-B would be 80%. If SCST library is applied to ISO13849, 90% of DC coverage can be achieved?
And also, This SCST can be met to "Self-test supported by hardware (one channel)" of Table A.4-Processing units of IEC61508-2. Is it correct? If not, please advice what Diagnostic technique does it meet?
As background, I am considering the new sensor unit that have S32K146 and would like to meet PLd (Category 2) of ISO13849.

If you have access to the SCST Library from NXP, then along with it we provide Safety Manual, Safety Analysis and Fault Coverage Estimation. The latest package that I see is : SCST_M4_S32K144_RTM_1.0.5_SafetyPack.zip

SCST helps to diagnose random faults in the core with a diagnostic coverage of up to 90%. The library has been developed in accordance with ISO26262 and NXP provides a safety package along with SCST that contains the safety analysis.

When using SCST software, it says ASIL-B Coverage 90%. Is it applicable to ISO13849 DC Coverage 90%?
We believe that it falls under the following deficit frame in IEC 61508-2. If they are different, please tell us which one applies.
As a background, I am thinking of using S32K146 this time to satisfy PLd (Category 2) at the component level.
Without using this SCST, I think that I will not be able to get Medium or higher in the Processing Unit.

Unfortunately I am not aware of ISO13849. In general, the diagnostic coverage achieved by SCST is independent of the diagnostic numbers in standards as the number in the standard are usually for guidance. I think you should use the number provided by NXP with additional argumentation supported by the standard you have.
