regarding input capture S32K144W FTM0

Hi community i am reading the input capure from PTE8 channel (FTM0) my application is to read 20hz to 1000hz only its working fine

1) when device turned on initailly frequency measurment is possible from 20hz to 1000hz by varying with any speed

2)Let us consider iam measuring the freq of 142hz or 200hz for continiously if wire or probe cuts or function generator is turned off , i should measure the number of ticks  0 (zero) . but iam getting the number of ticks as previously measured it self instead of 0 (zero). the below function must return 0

rpm_inputcapturemeas = IC_GetMeasurement(&ic_pal_1_instanceConfig, rpm_channel);

how can i fix this issue...??

Hi @sandeepc,

The FTM has to receive two edges before it can update the captured period / freq, until then, the function returns the old value.

But there is a callback with this event:

The application SW can read the captured value in this callback.

Or the callback can set a SW flag every time a new value is captured, and the application SW can call IC_GetMeasurement() only when the flag is set.
