dhcp enablement

Hi,

I'm able to assign static IP address and PING to the S32K148 Board.

To enable the dhcp, In configurator this has been done. But I'm not able to get the IP address.

Any steps need to be followed or any insights to make it work?

And found test_dhcp.c and test_dhcp.h in the C:\NXP\S32DS_ARM_v2.2\S32DS\software\S32SDK_S32K1xx_RTM_3.0.0\middleware\tcpip\lwip\test\unit what is the significance of this?

Hello, I tried to use DHCP on s32k314 but couldn't get an IP address. The configuration screenshot is shown below. May I ask where else needs to be configured?

Hi @rak14 

Just to be sure, to be able to get the example working you will need a prior setting of the IP on your PC.

On Windows, this can be done from:

Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings > Network adapter that connects to the board.

Select Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties; select Use the following IP address and configure the IP address and subnet mask. Configuration example: IP - 192.168.0.10, subnet mask - 255.255.255.0.

@VaneB Thank you for the quick response.

Yes, I've set the static IP address in PC and in board as well PING command is working fine.

But I need to connect the board to the office network and dhcp should be enabled in board, right?

In configurator I've enabled dhcp by checking it, but still I'm not able see the offered IP address.

How to enable the DHCP in board in brief would be helpful.

Hi @rak14 

It is not necessary to use DHCP, you only need to know which IPs are available and assign one. You can not assign an IP already used, this could cause a conflict of IP's.

DHCP makes the selection easier because the request automatically to the node an IP available. But to know the automatic IP it is required an IP finder.
