I'm currently exploring the Logic Control Unit (LCU) and would like to understand the practical use cases of the Force and Sync features. The reference manual doesn't provide much detail about them.
I have a design where:
I've attached my project, and it would be helpful if you could modify it to implement this logic.
Also, could you explain the use case for Sync in the context of LCU?
What the Operation Mode is used for? , what is the use case ?
*
What the Software Sync feature does when selected for specific channels?
and what is selecting the force signal means?
Thank you for your interest in our products and for contributing to our community.
For LCU, beyond reference manual, there is the following documentation:
I hope this information is helpful.
On the other hand, I must admit that I do not fully understand your design.
What is the logic of the 2 outputs?
You mention a third input, but what is the second input?
Could you provide a time diagram of the signal sequence which address your design requirements?
What is the use case for this design?
I've already reviewed the available resources, but I'm specifically looking for a practical example that demonstrates how to use the force and sync features in the LCU.
This an example design:
If, there's a single PWM input to the LCU, which drives two PWM outputs used to control a motor. I want to understand how I can force a change in the output states in case a fault is detected in the motor. The fault signals can also be provided as inputs to the LCU.
You’ll better understand my design if you check the project I’ve attached.
Also, could you please address the other question I mentioned earlier in the post?
Hi again,
Regarding your last comments… please find attached project.
It is based on S32M27x/S32K3 – eMIOS/TRGMUX/LCU – [RTD600], but adds force control support.
The force input can be generated internally or externally, in this case is generated internally with another PWM signal.
Please also note that inverting feature overlaps the force feature:
