Does the customer need to purchase the HSE module of S32K3 separately? In addition, how does NXP provide relevant services? And what exactly are the functions of the charging HSE?

Is it mandatory to have Lauterbach to download the HSE Firmware into the core ?

Is it possible to use the serial to download it ?

It is not necessary to purchase HSE separately. Everything is included in the price of the device.

It’s just necessary to install HSE firmware. This is up to user, it is not programmed in the factory.

We provide document AN744810 “HSE FW install for S32K3xx” which describes how to install the firmware. It can be found in Documentation in Secure Files section:

Then we provide HSE FW and HSE DEMOAPP as a part of S32K3 Standard Software package:

HSE DEMOAPP contains a number of scripts for Trace32 which shows how to do all the install – update – program operations. Document HSE_DEMOAPP_..._ReadMe.pdf explains how to use the scripts. Please follow the document step by step.

Once you install the software packages mentioned above on your computer, you can find documentation in those installation folders.

Next documentation related to HSE can be found in Documentation in Secure Files section on S32K3 main page as mentioned above.
