by default, the FlexCAN module comes out of reset with CTRL1[LBUF] set to 0, which selects arbitration internally by CAN ID. The RTD driver maintains this setting, so configuring the module to use an arbitration scheme that prioritizes high-priority messages, thereby addressing potential priority inversion issues.
