I was doing a time count on the PCF85063TP every second, and suddenly only the date advanced 5 days.
It was counting the correct time except the date.
I don't know if this is due to noise or IC problems.
Can such a thing happen?
Please let me know if you know a similar problem.
Hi,
I have never seen a similar issue. Does this issue happens all the time in your system or only occasionally? Have you find a way to replicate the issue?
It is very important to make a read or write access in one go, that is, setting or reading seconds through to years should be made in one single access. Failing to comply with this method could result in the time becoming corrupted.

Jose
Thank you for the reply.
The problem has not been replicated.
The system is set to read the time in one go as you say.

Hi,
What do you mean with “the problem has not been replicated”? Is the RTC now working as expected?
If you are still having issues with the device, please send I2C frames when the data is correct and when the issue is present. Sometimes, if the I2C signal is noisy due to a bad filtering or bad layout design, there could be high noise issue on the communication lines causing an unwanted peak that the device can understand as a HIGH signal.

Jose
