I am a new user of S32 Design Studio (S32DS), and I am having trouble opening an existing project (lin_slave_S32K116) that I received from a colleague.
Initially, I encountered a missing .project file error, which I managed to resolve. However, I am now stuck with the following two critical issues:
1. Processor Expert / SDK Warning: When importing the project, a pop-up window appears with the following message:
"Validation of lin_slave_s32k116 kinetis SDK project: Processor Expert components and/or repository are not available. Please install corresponding eclipse update located in Kinetis SDK in 'tools/eclipse_update'. Processor Expert changes will be disabled."
I searched for the eclipse_update folder inside my S32DS installation directory, but it does not exist.
2. Processor Not Supported Error: When I try to check the device settings, I get an error saying:
"Currently selected processor is not supported."
My Environment:
IDE Version: S32 Design Studio for ARM Version 2018.R1
Target MCU: S32K116
It seems like the S32K1xx development package or the required Kinetis SDK was not installed during my initial setup. I checked Help -> S32DS Extensions and Updates, but I couldn't find the exact package or link to download it.
Could anyone please guide me on where I can download the appropriate S32K1xx SDK / development package for S32DS v2018.R1? If there is a specific update site URL or an installer package on the NXP website, please let me know.

It looks like there are some differences between the two setups, so the code might not work as-is.
To ensure compatibility, you should verify the specific software version your coworker is using and align your environment accordingly. You can find this information by navigating to Help in the top menu and selecting Installation Details.
Once both setups are aligned, you can try the code again or see if any adjustments are still needed.
