VR5510 Watchdog Example

Dear team,

I am currently new to the watchdog functionality and am working on running the examples from the S32G3 AUTOSAR 4.4 RTD 5.0.0 D2410 Example Projects. Specifically, I am trying out the example named Wdg_VR5510_HLD_Example_S32G399A_M7.

While I am able to successfully build the project, I encounter issues during debugging. Occasionally, the board disconnects automatically from the debugger, which disrupts the debugging process.

Setup Details:

• Hardware: RDB3 with S32 Debug Probe
• IDE: NXP S32 Design Studio 3.5
• Board Configurations:
  1. Set SW10 switches to OFF positions: 1-OFF, 2-OFF
  2. J184 1-2 Open: This configures the VR5510 to enter normal mode after power on, thereby enabling the VR5510 watchdog.

Could you please assist me in understanding the watchdog functionality better and guide me through running the examples effectively? Any insights on resolving the debugging disconnection issue would be highly appreciated.

Edit to original post - During flashing Set SW10 switches to OFF positions: 1-ON, 2-OFF

Sometimes I am able to flash and debug.

Then I switched 

Set SW10 switches to OFF positions: 1-OFF, 2-OFF

During this phase RDB3 is rebooting after some time

Thank you for contacting us.

Refer to the VR5510 demo description in RTD, you need to set SW10 on the board to OFF: 1-OFF,2-OFF.

Then, I can debug the demo normally.

Yes, thats right
I made the SW10 to OFF as suggested.

When I start debugging, I didn't see any change in the RDB3 board.

But after restarting the board I observe the board reboots every 5 seconds.

Is this what intended?

Also, I changed the trigger condition

/* Set the Wdg_VR5510 trigger condition */
Wdg_43_VR5510_SetTriggerCondition(8000);

I expect to reboot every 8 seconds, but the board reboot every 5 secs not 8.
