VR5510 - VIO PIN VOLTAGE INPUT RANGE

For the VIO pin of VR5510 we need a voltage range of 1.75 to 3.4V. as show in below image.

We have connected the LDO3 of this same PMIC to supply this pin with 3.3V typical. But during the transient conditions we have a voltage range of +/-6% of typical , which is 3.102 to 3.498V, as shown below.

Is this sort of supply to VIO not advisable? And are we correct in analyzing the transient numbers for the supply inputs?

Hi diazmarin09,

Actually we are not within the range. The maximum output from the LDO3 is 3.498V but the acceptable maximum in PMIC VIO is 3.4V only. Hope this is clear. We want to know if there will be issues due to this.

Hello Diwakar07

Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Please review the response from our specialist below:

Please check below maximum rating for VR5510 pins.

VDDIO (All other pins in the table) maximum rating is 5.5V.  There is no potential issue to use LDO3 to power VDDIO.

I hope this information helps.

Hello Diwakar07,

I hope all is great with you. Thank you for using the NXP communities.

Yes, it is. I do not see any issue with your configuration as you are within the range. You are correct in considering the transient load regulation of the LDO3 output voltage.

I hope this information helps.

Regards,

David
