S32G274a - eMMC boot blocks

Hello,

I am trying to boot from eMMC boot blocks BOOT0/1 partition (mmcblk0boot0 and mmcblk0boot1)

I loaded fip image at an offset of 0x1000, in both BOOT0/1 and User partitions.

I also updated PARTITION_CONFIG  to set it to boot from BOOT0 or BOOT1 partition, but no matter what I do, it always boots from USER partition.

I am wondering, if it is even possible to select boot partitions for booting ? is it a limitation of the BootROM ?

I've tried to set the boot partition with both Linux and u-boot, but no success so far.

=> mmc partconf 0
EXT_CSD[179], PARTITION_CONFIG:
BOOT_ACK: 0x1
BOOT_PARTITION_ENABLE: 0x1
PARTITION_ACCESS: 0x0

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. On regards of BootROM, we understand that there is no current patch (nor way to do it), we do apologize.

Please, let us know.

Hi

Overall, we understand that BootROM doesn’t support booting from boot partition of eMMC. We do apologize.

Please, let us know.
