Hello,

Please see below pic

This is showing CAN gateway use case.

In LLCE block you can see there are CAN0/CAN1 in right hand side and HIF0/HIF1 in left hand side.

I have questions about HIF0/HIF1 of LLCE block.

As we all know that for PFE, it also uses this term "HIF" and it means host interface.

So 1. for LLCE, it just uses the same word "HIF" and it also means host interface of LLCE. LLCE doesn't use any function from PFE. The HIF in LLCE and PFE are totally independent.

2. LLCE leverages the HIF feature from PFE or use the same HIF function from PFE, so they both share some piece of source code or reuse some function blocks.

Which one of above understandings is a correct description for HIF? 1 or 2?

Thanks
