LWIP - TCP/IP stack in S32G

Hi,
I am currently looking to configure IPv6 in S32G-VNP-RDB2 Board SJA1110 Switch this TCP/IP stack is included
In TCP/IP Stack currently i am using 2.1.2 version
Netiface -- ENABLE IPv6
IP Network -- for IPv6 basic configuration is added

I am trying to create a link local address where i should be able to use this ipv6 address anywhere i need. so below is the code where this code needs to be interfaced so that i can ping ip address from any of the switch - 1 ports.

ip6_addr_t ipaddr_v6;
s8_t chosen_idx;
IP6_ADDR(&ipaddr_v6, PP_HTONL(0xFE800000), PP_HTONL(0x0),
         PP_HTONL(0x3DD79303), PP_HTONL(0x126c0df0));
netif_add_ip6_address(&netif, &ipaddr_v6, &chosen_idx);
netif.ip6_addr_state[chosen_idx] = IP6_ADDR_VALID;

so where this integration needs to be done
what are the other changes need to be done in TCP/IP stack

Hello, @Atkinson

Thanks for your post.

From S32G formal software perspective, there is a lwIP demo existed for GMAC port. There is also an old demo existed for PFE port, but not available for recent version software combinations. For the ports on SJA1110 of RDB2, there are not direct example/demos existed.

From the description. seems you want to use the SJA1110 port to communicate with other network devices via lwIP?

Hi @chenyin_h

1.) there is a lwIP demo existed for GMAC port. There is also an old demo existed for PFE port
 can you share both the implementation. what is the role lwip stack play here.

2.)From the description. seems you want to use the SJA1110 port to communicate with other network devices via lwIP?
Actually, I would like to bring the basic features of lwip stack which includes IPv6 so i would like to test the feasibility in either SJA1110/S32G.

so basically i would like to bring the ping message or transmission of data using IPv6.

Hello, @Atkinson

Thanks for your reply.

1. OK, I suggest using the lwIP demo based on GMAC, the PFE one is quite outdated, and the dependencies are not easy to find.

The lwIP demo(GMAC) for RDB2 could be found from the following page.

chenyin_h_0-1764647702721.png

In order for obtaining it, you may need to install the S32G TCPIP stack and FreeRTOS packages provisioned by NXP from your NXP account to your S32DS, once installed, by pressing:

chenyin_h_1-1764648223298.png

Then you may find the demo I mentioned.

2. By default, it is set with IPv4 address, current demo may not directly support IPv6. But I think IPv6 may be supported since it is only related with stack itself, you may need to enable it in lwIP and test if there are issues

Hi @chenyin_h

Thanks for the Reply!!
Currently i am able to see the TCP/IP stack version which i am having is 1.4.0 the Image which you showed up is having the TCP/IP stack is having the version 2.0.0
Automotive Software Package Manager | NXP Semiconductors
i checked here where the S32G2 platform holds maximum of 1.4.0

For IPv6 it needs minimum of 2.0.0 or above. so where can i find the packages ?
can you elaborate after integrating the IPv6.
In that how can we check what MAC address has been assigned to that port changing the MAC address and deep diving into the configuration How can it be done?

Hello, @Atkinson

Thanks for your reply.

1. Since it is not available from the software manager page, maybe it is not made public yet, I suggest firstly using the 1.0.4 version.

2. The 1.0.4 is the internal version for S32G TCP/IP stack, not the version of lwIP,  the lwIP used is 2.1.3, which could fulfill your requirements

Hello @chenyin_h

Actually the Image which you attached TCP/IP stack is showing the 2.0.0 but currently i am using the 1.4.0  which is showing up like "S32G TCPIP STACK 1.0.4 D2310 Example projects".  so i guess i need to bring the TCP/IP stack 2.0.0
Can you please navigate where can i find the file that TCP/IP which you shared in snippet

Hello, @Atkinson

Thanks for your reply.

You may check it in your NXP account, to see if it is available, if still not, maybe it is not made public to your NXP account yet.

As I mentioned, the 1.0.4/2.0.0 is the version number for "S32G TCPIP STACK", while this stack is basically based on lwIP2.1.3 or more recent version,  so that I think using the 1.0.4 version of "S32G TCPIP STACK" you mentioned is still correct for your requirement.
