I am trying to program and debug MPC5748G using openSDA #example project - hello (C:\Freescale\S32_Power_v1.1\S32DS\Examples\MPC5748G\hello) on my new devkit MPC5748G.
I got bellow error and debug session wont start; (S32DS version 1.1 and Build ID :160608)
My debugger configuration
Host machine : Win7 64bit running on Intel core i3
Can anyone, experienced same issue share how to resolve this?
is this known issue?
Hi all again,
follow up. What's the status of the issue?
The download works awfully slow to me and then again, it seems not to work - but it did, once, if I remember correctly.
COM port seems available, but trying uart sample I have no look seeing any tx msgs.
There is a maybe related issue report here https://community.nxp.com/thread/441035 - 12V doesn't fix it for me. I'll investigate further.
Best regards
Hello Ludwig
Thanks for the details,
I guess you are not able to connect to the board neither.
The investigation is still in progress.
We will keep you informed about the progress.
Stan
Hello all,
I met the same problem, Is the investigation of this problem still in progress?...please give me any information you've got.
Thanks and best regards,
Tam.
Hi Tam,
I was actually able to download firmware to target, but it's so slow, I makes me wonder. Try a clean restart of your machine, check COM ports, check USB leads and swap USB cables to be sure there is no issue physically. You need to set the interface in debug in eclipse. Kind regards, LS
Hi Ludwig,
Thanks for the support,
I think the issue is caused by the board itself because I have 2 boards, one of them that I able to download firmware normally but one met the issue.
Best regards,
Tam
Hello Tam,
the problem, why it was not possible to connect to the board was, that U14 gate QFN was inverted. Please measure U14 gate output voltage (it should be around 3.3V). If you measure something like 1.2V (not correct CMOS logical 1), please contact Ricardo Ruiz Velasco Lomeli <ricardo.ruizvelasco@nxp.com>
Regards,
Martin
Hi Martin,
I have 3 boards (2 boards fail, 1 board ok). I tried measuring them. The results are:
- Board Ok: the output voltage is 3.3v
- 2 boards Fail: 1 is 3.3v and 1 is 0v. With the board fail 3.3v, it has the same issue with the following link

Hello Tam,
if the problem with boards you cannot connect to are related to MPC5748G Flash Problem, (reset occurs while you downloading/erasing the code) please read Lukas Zadrapa's post at this thread https://community.nxp.com/thread/444748 .

Martin
Hi all,
I wanted to follow-up on the "investigation of the problem or board" before most people are on a holiday break.
Stan, I was able to flash the board, because you wrote I am not able to connect it, however there was something dodgy going on and I was thinking to change the micro-USB cable etc. to make sure everything is electrically all right. Also I am working through a VM (Mac<->Win10), however in 95% all USB devices connected to the VM work as expected.
Regards and happy holidays!
Ludwig
Hi all,
which boards are affected?
Mine:
700 - 29030 RevA
SCH - 29030 RevB
L330160167
stanish do you have any news from your side?
Regards,
Ludwig
I had the same problem with downloading, then after I connected 12 VDC power, it worked OK.
David
hello,
Thanks for sharing your observations. I have raised a Support ticket
request to NXP, I got couple of test instructions which I followed and then
its confirmed that there is an issue with the hardware.

Hello Udit,
Could you please indicate which revision and S/N of the board you have?
There should be some labels at the bottom side of the board:
Thanks!
Stan
