Hello,

I am currently using S32DS3.2, and I wanted to know if there are any ISP-specific advantages to using a newer version of S32DS. It has been a while since we used DS, so I was wondering if there have been any changes to the emitter over the past year or two for 3.2.

Thanks,

Alex

Hello @Alexander_Garcia,

If you are working with the S32V234 and the ISP accelerator, then probably you are also using the VSDK. You may want to consider to use S32DS 3.4 and install S32V2 Vision Extension package 1.3.0 for S32 Design Studio 3.4. The main consideration here, it includes VSDK 1.7. This is the final version of the S32V2 Vision Extension package. There will be no more updates to it. The VSDK 1.7 is the final VSDK version to be supported by the S32V2 Vision Extension package. They have released newer versions, but they are not supported with S32DS integration via the S32V2 Vision Extension package. You should check the release notes for the VSDK 1.7 and determine the impacts of migrating your application to this version.

There are likely some bug fixes, improvements, and possible undesired changes. There will likely be some migration steps you would need to make to your application project.  You will need to decide if it is a benefit for you.

Hope that helps,

Mike

Hi,

definitely using latest version of S32DS is good idea - especially for new development. Please see release notes for both versions to check which bugs was fixed in latest release.

Anyway, what's your target device?

The target HW is the S32V234. This is new development for an older project, and I want to decrease complexity as much as possible. I'm trying to see if there is an advantage to switching over or if there should be no issues.
