Hello,
I am running the HCS12 (9S12DP512) on the following conditions:
1. PLL is used to generate 24Mhz (16Mhz crystal is used).
2. No GIOP are used to drive any loads.
3. MSCAN (CAN 0 only) is used.
4. No other modules is used.

under those conditions, I get 50mA when the MCU is put in the Wait Mode (No CAN) and 62mA when there is CAN communication.
are those values within the range?
I heard that the HCS12 can go with far more lower current that these values. what are the typical current for the HCS12 when it's in the Wait mode and Run Mode and only CAN is used (Sleep mode is used when MCU is in the Wait mode).

thank you.

Check out this forum thread for information on configuring the MCU for low power modes. A lot of the power consumption can be reduced by configuring the unused I/O pins properly. Also, a search of the forums using the phrase "low power mode" will turn up a number of hits that you can search for more information.
