Although the specsheet specifies that the External Clock input should be driven with no more than 2.5 volts, I did connect it with a Citizen clock driving 5 volts!

What are the implications guys?

Hi Fabricio,

Putting double the maximum voltage could simply result in damaging the MCU.

Specifications means it is how functionalities are tested and/or guaranteed.
Being out of specification not invalidates any warranty but present a risk to your application.

Alban.
