We would like to explore rapid iot's NFC functionality in a student project. Several randomly placed but close to each other rapid-iots should be able to find their closest neighbor. Bluetooth will not work since the difference in signal strength will not be sufficient enough to distinguish "close" from "closest". Near field communication (NFC) should work, but are the nxp rapid iot prototyping kits capable of communicating with each other by nfc?
Before spending a lot of development time on something that won't work, we would appreciate if somebody in the community can share their experiences in whether and how this could work.
(So far we did not even succeed in getting the demo-application for nfc to work. Are there any known problems regarding the nfc functionality?)

Hello,
Please consider that the element that the Rapid IoT device has it's an NTAG I2C. This it's a passive NFC element, so those will not generate a field to get activated, you will need to use another type of device to generate a field , you cna test it even with your cellphone.
