Hi,

I am using P1022 processor in one of my design. The processor takes data from FPGA through PCIe interface and stores it in DRAM and sends to external hard disk through SATA interface. 32 bit DDR3 and NOR flash are connected to processor and Ethernet PHY is connected to processor through SGMII interface. Linux will be running on processor. What is the maximum current requirement on core voltage(1V) when operating at 125C with the core frequency of 1067MHz. Any power calculator is available? since we are not using all the interfaces, we are thinking that the power consumption would be less than 4.92W as specified in datasheet . It would be helpful if i can get exact power calculation for core voltage.

Unfortunately there is not any power calculator for the core power consumption depending on interfaces used. The core power consumption can vary depends on application. That is why we provide power numbers when the cores run standard Dhrystone code. Maximum power assumes Multicore Dhrystone activity factor at 100% (on all cores) and executing DMA on the platform at 100% activity factor. Maximum power provided for power supply design sizing. Thermal power assumes Multicore Dhrystone activity factor of 80%(on all cores) and executing DMA on the platform with 90% activity factor. Thermal and maximum power are based on worst-case process distribution for this device. If you are looking for VDD+VDDC+SVDD 1V power supply design for the P1022 at 125C with the core frequency of 1067MHz our recommendation is to use 4.92W minimum.  If you are looking for thermal design you should add 4.74W to your total power budget at 125C junction temperature.
