LS1012a RDB only appears as bootloader?

Hi All,

I've gotten a LS1012a RDB and I'm Trying to learn to use it.

The problem I have is the drive doesn't appear when it is plugged in, and only appeared as a drive called BOOTLOADER once I clicked the reset button.

Could anyone help me get the board connected?

I'm sorry is this question has been asked before, but any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Nic

I have an identical problem but with the LS1046A Reference Design Board:

Cannot connect via serial port connect to the LS1046A RDB, when I connect the console USB to my Windows 10 workstation, I only see a drive labeled "BOOTLOADER" containing one file called bootload.htm, using Windows10 and did not previously disable Windows service 'Storage Services'.

I looked all over for and mbed binary compatible with the LS1046A-RDB and have not found it, is the binary posted above k22fx512_ls1020a_if_mbed.bin.zip in the entry dated Jul 11, 2017 3:50 AM compatible with the LS1046A?

Can someone post the mbed binary for the LS1046A-RDB?

Yes, the mentioned binary is compatible with the LS1046ARDB.

Hi ,

I have the same issue with the bootloader and corrected with the attached binary.

can you please describe the problem with the bootloader instead of mded serial port so as to know what was the erroneous behavior and when if reproduced?

What are contents of the BOOTLOADER?

Have you tried the GSG, "16 Troubleshooting"?

Under Trouble shooting, It says the D20 LED must be on, however it is not on my board.

Sorry for the delay.

Please copy attached binay image into the BOOTLOADER.

Unplug and plug again the USB cable into the RDB - there should be MBED device instead of the BOOTLOADER:

MBED.png

Also mbed Serial Port should be present in the Device Manager:

I'm having an issue now where the mbed drive is disconnecting itself.

I've made a serial connection in tera term and during booting it froze, the mbed drive dissappeared then re-appeared a few times and the red PORST led is on solid.

Is the board brand new?

Have you ever seen consistent console output before the MBED binary was recovered?

yes it is new, I don't recall seeing console output from this board.

I have also had this disconnect/reconnect problem happen to a FRDM ls1012a board, It will run for a while but eventually the red led will come on and it will freeze.

The only way I've found to get the console running again is to restart my computer, it is possible there is an issue with the computer?

Please try another computer. Better - with different OS.

I've given it a try with a windows 7 machine and it worked no problem, it may just be the issue with this computer running windows 10

There is a problem with mbed and Windows 8 and 10.

You need to download the binary file and then also disable Windows storage services, as is explained in this link:

DAPLink bootloader update | Mbed

or the problem will happen again.

Hi Ufedor,

With the device powered, the USB is connected into the laptop, however the device doesn't show up in device manager and it doesn't appear in the "This PC" section as a drive.

What I would expect it to do is appear as a removable drive called "MBED".

I Hope this provides some insight to the problem.
