I am evaluating the possibility of using software compression (gzip)  on T1020 for a 100Mbps input .  What is the max throughput I can expect assuming all of the CPU is available for compression. ?  The cores could work in SMP mode..

I got a comparison for e6500 core from this document - https://community.nxp.com/docs/DOC-331652

I hope this data is representative enough of the capabilities of e5500.

There is no data about gzip compression performance for the T1020 (e5500 core). It depends on configuration and software. Some benchmark data are available on the following page:

http://www.eembc.org/coremark/index.php

There is data for the e500 core (P4080 and P2020), e6500 core (T4240) on this page. Use this page for estimation the T1020 performance.

Have a great day,
