Using KDS3.0 Project wizard I have problem creating new project using FRDM-KL25Z Board and Processor Expert without KSDK1.2

KL25_error.jpg

Using Processor MKL25Z128VLK4   doesn’t cause any problem

Hi Shaul,

this is a known problem (and I think I remember to have seen this in the release notes).

Bottom line is that this message comes up if you select the FRDM board with Processor Expert enabled (no SKD selected).

The workaround is:

instead selecting the board in the wizard, select the device (KL25Z128xxx4):

I hope this helps,

Hi Shaul,

If you drill down into the KDS_3.0 folder to find PEx_for_Kinetis_3.0.1_Release_Notes.pdf it shows what Boards are supported for none KSDK PE support.  Sorry to say FRDM-KL25Z is not one of the supported boards.

That same document indicates that the KL25Z processor family is supported.

So I believe this is what you are seeing.

It would be nice is PE would not give you the option of the unsupported boards but the Board/Processor selection comes before the un-selecting of the KSDK.  A catch 22.

Regards,

David
