kernel fails to boot

facing a peculiar problem , kernel boots well when i use RS232 port on my custom mpc8309 board, but hangs after loading device tree when connected to virtual com port. Kindly resolve

What virtual COM port is used?

Is it USB-COM converter?

Check setting of this virtual COM port. Draw attention on parity, STOP bits and type of handshake.

Often these incorrect settings produce similar problem.
