Flash Programming error

Hi,

I am working on a Board which has MPC8360 Power PC. I am not able to program the flash which is interfaced to the Power PC. When monitored the LWE (write enable) signal we are getting high, where as in other working boards its pulsing. May i know how to rectify this?

Thanks,

Samyukta

1) Was the board checked for a manufacturing/soldering issue?

2) Is the flash chip-select pulsed?

3) Is the LWE probed directly on the processor's pin?

Dear Sir,
1) Was the board checked for a manufacturing/soldering issue?
Yes, its checked.
2) Is the flash chip-select pulsed?
yes , its pulsing. We have replaced the board with new flash IC.
3) Is the LWE probed directly on the processor's pin?
The processor pin is interfaced with a resistor(33 ohm) to the flash. We probed at the resistor end.

4) Please use a debugger, execute write operation to the Flash LBC memory bank (chip-select) and check the LWE0 behaviour.

Dear Sir,

4) Please use a debugger, execute write operation to the Flash LBC memory bank (chip-select) and check the LWE0 behaviour.

We checked it LWE0 is always high, whereas in other working boards its pulsing.

Thanks & Regards,

Please use a debugger to ensure that settings of LBC registers are identical on operational and problem boards.

If the LBC settings are identical, please perform the ABA swap - i.e. interchange processors between operational and problem boards.

Dear Sir,

We have replaced the processor with new IC. Even after the replacement, there is no improvement.

Please guide.

With Regards,

Samyukta

Please check that RCW is supplied correctly and is the same as on operational boards.

What are measured levels when the resistor is removed?
