Nxp FS4500 SBC chip interface with Nxp S32K148 issue

Hello

I am trying to interface with NxP SBC FS4500 chip through a NxP S32K148 Micro-controller.

Each time during the initialization, I receive 7F FF FF FF FF .... for punch of frames.

I tried to change the data to be sent over SPI, with no benefit.

Given that also, I tried to use the DEBUG mode and also the normal mode but with no change in the readings!

My question is, don't we have any way of handshaking with that SBC just to make sure of the functionality?

Do you have any sequence of frames that I can send at the initialization and see a response just to make sure that I am not having any HW issues?

Hello Ahmed,

Please take a closer look at our AN5238 where you can find the recommended start-up SPI sequence (Chapter 14.2).

There is also an example project created in the S32 Design Studio available at FS4500 | Fail Silent SBC up to 500mA|NXP.

I hope it helps!

Best regards,

Tomas
