When the chip works in the Dead Battery Mode,

In the case of external USB 5V power supply, whether the chip is still charging the board at this time.

If charging, what is the charging path, or what is the process?

In dead battery mode,the HV sink active with short circuit protection once current above 10A.

So about the charger current depend on the charger IC not this load switch.
