When upgrading the SBC-FS23 driver from V1.0.0 to V2.0.0 using the EB30.0.0 tool, an error message appeared stating that an SPI reference was not selected. However, the reference option was unavailable. Shouldn't the Chan ID and Seq ID be automatically associated based on the reference?

SPI reference issue:
Yes, Channel ID and Sequence ID are normally auto‑assigned once a valid SPI reference is selected. In your upgrade from SBC‑FS23 V1.0.0 to V2.0.0, the SPI reference was lost during migration, so EB tresos could not resolve Chan/Seq IDs. This is a migration issue, not a configuration error. Re‑adding the SBC configuration after SPI is configured usually fixes it.

Recommended workaround

1. Open Sbc_fs23 → Communication configuration

2. Temporarily:

   • Remove the existing SBC_FS23 configuration instance

3. Re‑add the SBC module after the Spi module is fully configured

4. Re‑select:

   • Spi reference (now selectable)

5. Re‑assign SBC configuration parameters

This forces EB tresos to rebuild the internal reference graph correctly.

Dear WeiCh,

The FS23 fields are not selectable because FS23 depends on a valid SPI configuration, not just on the FS23 module being present.

From the error list in the screenshot:

• SpiChannel has no (or invalid) SpiJob
• SpiJob is not linked to a valid SpiSequence
• SpiSequence is empty or incorrectly configured
• Some SPI timing/driver settings are missing

As long as any SPI error exists, the ECUC editor blocks SpiChannelRef and SpiSequenceRef selection in FS23.

What to do (in order):

1. Configure SpiChannel → SpiJob → SpiSequence completely
2. Make sure each sequence contains at least one job
3. Resolve all SPI-related errors in Problems View
4. Regenerate ECU configuration

Once the SPI module is error‑free, the FS23 SPI references become selectable automatically.

I'm answering you using a different account. The previous account frequently experienced lag when logging in and obtaining the verification code. After upgrading selected module configurations and verifying selected projects, the Error Log showed an error: "SPI was not selected for FS23," but it's actually not selectable. Then I deleted the FS23-related modules, and verified the selected projects and generated the project again. The Error Log no longer showed an error, and the project was generated successfully. Below is the SPI configuration.

Dear WeiC,

this looks like a dependency conflict. SPI exists, but SPI is not selectable anymore, because it is already “owned” by the generic SPI module configuration. Please try following: 

Let FS23 create SPI:

1. Remove FS23 modules
2. Remove SPI module
3. Add FS23 modules first
4. Enable/configure SPI inside FS23
5. Let the tool auto‑generate SPI, jobs, and sequences
6. Verify selected projects → OK
