Hello NXP support,

I used the CAN transceiver TJA1041AT and TJA1043, and found their error pin status not the same.

When communication with TJA1041, the error was low, is it normal?

When communication with TJA1043, the error was high.

They both can communicate normally.

Please confirm the attched:

Hello Tomas,

I am so curious why the TJA1043 can clear the flag but the TJA1041 cannot on  the same PCBA and SW.

Thank you.

Hello

Could this be related to software?  I found that the error pin of the same chip was raised on another project.

Thank you.

Hello Victor,

It is indeed likely related to your SW as pins ERR_N or ERR (#8) are in both cases active-low outputs, so a low-level indicates a set flag as described in Table 5 of both datasheets. There should be no difference in the behavior of this pin on these HS-CAN transceivers.

When the Error pin is low, will there be any problem when I go to communicate?

Thank you.
