Hello @Kan_Li

Thanks for your reply. To be Specific i want to use it for device to device authentication

I aim to implement this specifically on mechanical pumps for authentication. The goal is to ensure that only OEM spare parts are used for replacement; if third-party parts are detected, an error should be indicated. For authentication there can be serial numbers , RFID or NFC tags on the spare parts

First, I want to make this hardware setup separately its own. Then, I'll work on connecting it to the microcontrollers on the pumps. Also, I need to create versions with and without connectivity (for example: Pumps might be installed warehouse , industries where internet connectivity is not available authentication should be done in offline mode).

Another challenge is the potential scale, as there could be thousands of pumps worldwide, each with millions of spare parts (such as rotors and stators).

Your approach in this will be really helpful for me, looking forward to hear from you.

Hi @abhishek_chevle ,

Actually we have an app note on this topic, please kindly refer to https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12399.pdf for details. and if you want to use it with some MCU, we recommend LPC55S69 or RT1170 with SE050, please kindly refer to https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12542.pdf and https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12450.pdf for more details.

Hope that helps,

Have a great day,
Kan

Hello @Kan_Li ,

In device to device authentication can this be implemented with machine side being Host MCU and SE050 and Control Unit being as NFC Tags or RFID tags or any serial numbers on the parts for authentication.?

Because in my case on control unit side there is no specific Hardware or MCU.

Thanks.

looing forward to hearing from you

Hi @abhishek_chevle ,

I am sorry, SE050 must be used with a host controller like MCU in the use case of device to device authentication .

Have a great day,
Kan

Hi @abhishek_chevle ,

SE050 is mainly target for IoT security use cases such as TLS connection, cloud onboarding, device-to-device authentication, device integrity protection, attestation, sensor data protection, Wi-Fi credential protection, secure access to IoT services, IoT device commissioning and personalization. Would you please clarify which kind of use case you want to implement with SE050 in your application?

Thanks for your patience!

Have a great day,
Kan
