Packet Forwarding Engine for S32G

Hi

Is Packet Forwarding Engine is mandatory for Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Controller (GMAC; Synopsys DesignWare Universal Ethernet MAC) on S32G? This GMAC IP is shared on multiple platforms like cyclone_v_soc where PFE is not being used.

If yes, where we can get the register set for Packet forward engine for S32G?

What is the version of Synopsys MAC controller?

GMACs on S32G processors are owned by PPFE. Only a very small part of GMAC functionality
is controlled directly by software. The rest is abstracted by PPFE which is a microcode-
controlled machine. PPFE programming interface details are currently available only to
authorized customers. If you are planning a design with S32G, please contact your distributor
for assistance.
