PCF8576C

I'm working with a single PCF8576C and I'm not sure where to connect the CLK and SYNC pin in static mode. 

The datasheet says that those pins should be at a defined level(Vss or Vdd). 

I'm using the internal oscillator of the PCF8576C that means I get an output clock signal from CLK for cascaded PCF8576. Can I simply pull both pins up ?

If you use single PCF8576C no the cascaded application,pins SYNC and CLK must be left open circuit.
