I am trying to drive a series of 35 SSRs with a quantity of shift registers using a common SPI bus. The SSRs will draw 3mA each. My idea was to sink each 3 mA current through a different unique GPI pin when I command it low, as a low-side switch . so one GPI pin is for only one SSR. Can I do this with the PCA9703? It seems that I can't, and the device cannot tolerate such current. Which is it?
