Is there a way to reset the counter without having to sleep/wake or reset the chip?

Here is the application: Using the PCA9685 to control PWM outputs to trailing edge AC dimmers such that the leading edge of all the PWM rising edges should happen at the AC zero cross point. So We need a way to force all the channels to have a rising edge with a trigger signal. The OE pin does not work for this since it just turns the signal on and off at the same point it would otherwise. Sleep/wake works but there is a 500us delay which is an eternity in PWM world.

It would be fantastic if we had a way to reset the internal counter to 0 with a pin or I2C command which would solve this problem.

Appreciate your time in advance.

Hi Masoud,

I am afraid there is no way to reset the counter using an I2C command or a pin, unfortunately.

Regards,

Tomas
