PCA9535A GPIO expander

Hello, 

I have the reset signal going to the PCA9535A reset input being driven by a 3.3V signal but the PCA9535A is being powered by 1.8V VDD. Is this allowed? The datasheet says its 5V tolerant.

the PCA9539A is from 1.65 to 5.5V see below.

Understand, please connect the RESET pin to VDD.

I don't have a 1.8V  output reset signal, only have the 3.3V reset signal. 

Are you saying that reset input is not 3.3V tolerant when gpio's VDD is 1.8V?

Please get note that the VDD range is from 2.3V to 5.5V, the 1.8V can't be used.
