I have an application based on the Suprema reader for physical access control. By presenting the card in front of this reader, I retrieve the card identifier and if it is in the list of authorized persons, the access control application lets it enter the company. The ID is retrieved by NFC.
My question: On a javacard contactless card with jcop4, is NFC on the card by default or do I need a Mifare or disfire module to add to the chip for NFC to be operational? thanks in advance. I am looking to by the contactless J3R180 with JCOP 4 P71.

Hello, thank you for your interest in our products.

I think the use of a Javacard is a little bit too much. Please take a look at our MIFARE products. MIFARE DESFire cards are intended for Smart City Solutions. Please review which of them will adjust better to your needs.

Java cards are intended to be used for Banking applications, and with high-security solutions.

Best Regards,
Fabian
