I want to read simultanous multiple NFC / RFID (or other technology) 54 cards using a reader connected to a smartphone.

First, with a laptop it will be fine.

I want to know wich cards are present on the reader.

I saw this reader https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHJND9kIzJM  but I don't knwow which reader model / cards is it..

Thank you for your help .

Regards,

Stephane

Hi @stephtok,

The chip in the video you showed seems to be an ICODE ILT (Item-Level Tagging). All the information for this chip is under its page, please help me taking a look: ICODE ILT.

The ICODE ILT is a dedicated chip for passive, intelligent tags and labels supporting the ISO 18000-3 mode 3 RFID standard. It is especially suited for applications where reliable identification and high anti-collision rates are required.

The system is a reader talks first (RTF) system, meaning that a ICODE ILT only responds with an information signal after being directed by the interrogator.

It is part of the NXP Semiconductors ICODE product family. The entire ICODE product family offers anti-collision functionality. This allows a reader to simultaneously operate multiple labels/tags within its antenna field. A ICODE ILT based label/tag requires no external power supply.

If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask!

Best regards,
Julián

Hi Julian,

Thks for your answer !

So the CLRD730 can read multiple RFID cards if we put them directly on it (40 cards for example) ?

Is it possible to use android or iphone smartphone with it ?

Where I can buy compatible rfid tag to put on my card games and to read them with the reader ?

What is the price of this reader, and do you have other models compatible with Multiple card read simultaneously functionality?

Regards,

Stéphane

Hi @stephtok,

The PEGODA Contactless Smart Card Reader does support multiple cards simultaneously, but you can only interact with one at a time and it is not recommended. In a final product how many cards can be read at the same time will be dependent on the antenna design, as shown in the video you provided. You can look up its price in the page I linked.

If you are searching for a final solution, please help me looking into the RFID Ecosystem for different systems.

"Is it possible to use android or iphone smartphone with it ?"

By this, do you mean to read/write into tags with a smartphone?

Best regards,
Julián.

Hi @stephtok,

Some of our readers support the ISO/IEC 15693-3 protocol based on this table: NFC Readers, and the reading capabilities are dependent on the antenna of the final design.

You can either choose an IC for development (ICODE® & NFC Readers) or opt for a final solution from the RFID Ecosystem I mentioned earlier.

There is a community post explaining how to enable multiple tags for an NFC reader, but only used two as a maximum, as it is only to demonstrate the anticollision. You can look into it here: Activating multiple Tags using NFC Reader Library - NXP Community. The full support of the multiple cards will depend on your implementation.

Best regards,
Julián.

Ok thank you for your answer.

I need to know if my project is possible..

Do you know some technical staff who work in this multiple tags for an NFC reader ?

Stephane

Hi @stephtok,

I would recommend, again, looking into our RFID Ecosystem for a final solution on a vicinity reader that aligns with your project. The ICODE family provides anticollision for inventory and supply chain, which makes it possible to have many cards in the field without complications.

Unfortunately, as I've mentioned, this is entirely dependent in your implementation, as we do not support or recommend that quantity of cards simultaneously with our readers.

Best regards,
Julián.

I understand your answer, but I need to see a valid solution before invest in a final solution...

I can't invest without sure soltuion reader/antenna/cards...

I fyou know some team who want to test this multiple reader cards in one shot I'll take it

Or perhaps a video using this type of technology to test for me this solution.

Thks a lot

Hi @stephtok,

Since the ICODE has the anticollision technology for this project to be possible, and the reading capabilities of a device depends on the antenna design, this custom application will depend on your implementation.

The situation here is that if you are trying to read that many tags for a custom application, this would be a problem that is out of the online support scope since it is difficult for us to replicate it and give you a solution. My best advice would be to contact any of our partners for a device that fits your needs (RFID Ecosystem).

I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

Best regards,
Julián.
