Hello All,
I am trying to now how it possible to test good performance of dual mpx pressure sensor on Printed circuit board, without taking it apart from the board.
Best regards
Mahtab
Hi Mahtab,
One way to test the pressure sensor performance is by power supply the device, then with the pressure ports unconnected (same pressure on both port of the sensor), the outputs should be around the 0.5V.
Then, power down the device and connect the hoses to the ports of the sensors and power the device. Using port P2 as the reference, start applying pressure to port P1 (pressure on port P1 should always be greater or equal than pressure on port P2), and you should see an increment in the output voltage as the figure 5 of the datasheet: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/MPX5100.pdf
The only way to know if the result data out of the pressure sensor is accurate, is by comparing the voltage value given by the sensor with the calculated nominal transfer value (knowing the pressure applied to the sensor):
Vout = Vs (P x 0.009 + 0.04)
+/- (Pressure Error x Temp. Mult. X 0.009 x Vs)
Where Vs = 5.0V +/-0.25%
Check page 7 of the datasheet.
Have a great day,
Jose
