MPC8313E, poor network performace

Today I tried the network performance of MPC8313ERDB rev.C, Linux 2.6.23 (the last) with iperf on a Gigabit Ethernet connection.
I'm suprised at the poor performance:
with MTU 1500 (both sides) - 278 Mbits/sec
with MTU 9000 (both sides) - 321 Mbits/sec

Does anybody make  some network performance tests?

Curious as to whether you got this to go faster, and if so, do you recall what you did? Thanks!

We changed the CPU for our project because of missing external DMA  (we need fast communication with a FPGA).
