Hi Team,

Regarding PWRON, STANDBY & SDWNB pins, We are not using any battery and power ON switch botton. Still these pins need to connect to i.Mx6Q processor?

If we need to connect what is the use of PWRON, STANDBY & SDWNB pins?

Please explain clarly on this pins use without battery and switch.

FYI, In my design we are using i.Mx6Q. &  MMPF0100F6ANES Pre-programmed OTP configuration F6.

Hi Ramakrishna,

please refer to the Table 1. in the AN4717. There is recommended connection for some pins when they are not used.

The PWRON pin is an input. It must be connected. If you don't need to use it's funtion, please connect it to VSNVS pin via an 8k to 100k pull-up resistor. A middle pull-up resistor should be ok. E.g. 50kOhm.

You can leave the RESETBMCU floating.

Connect the unused STANDBY pin to ground.

Please leave the unused SDWNB floating.

Hi JozefKozon,

Thank you.

Here I have another doubt without coin cell and switch. Is there any use of these pins?

-STANDBY

-SDWNB

-PWRON

Please confirm we are using i.Mx6Q and PMIC. with this combination. we want to understand more about these pin functionality without coin cell and switch.

Thank you.

Hi Ramakrishna,

PWRON, STANDBY & SDWNB

the three pins above have nothing to do with the LICELL pin. If you don't need to use the Coin Cell, you will have no backup power, when the VIN power is not available. Depends on your requirements.

The PWRON pin can be used to restart the PMIC by your MCU (i.MX6Q).

The STANBY pin can send the PMIC to Standby mode. It can be again driven by the MCU.

If you will not use the STANBY pin, then you don't need the coin cell 3V backup. Connecting the STANBY pin to Ground as recommended when not used will keep the STANBY pin constantly at 0V.

The SDWNB pin is an output from the PMIC. If you will not use it, your MCU will not be notified.

The above pins are not mandatory to use if you don't need their functions. It's up to you if you need the functions or not. If not used, please follow the AN4717 for recommended connections when unused.

With Best Regards,

Jozef
